It is indicated [on your website] that Marion Van Vickle married second a
Miles Reavis and had a son Miles Sheldon POPE ? b 1946. I am a Reavis
researcher and have written 4 books on them from the progenitor on thru 8th
generation.
I do not have Marion in database, but do have a Miles Sheldon Reavis b1890 in
Illinois and died 1968 in Decatur, Ill.
1930 census Decatur, Macon Co Il Reavis, Miles S. 37 Emma 33 (Florence
Emma Hull..murdered 1930's?) their son Miles Sheldon Jr ., age 11, was in hh
of his grandmother, Mary Hull in Decatur, Il. on the same census.
My notes have Jr dying in prison 1953-1955. He was born ca1919. My notes had
Florence Emma murdered in 1920's and death date for her of 1921. BUT she was
on the 1930 census. So not sure about this data. Father of Miles Sheldon, Sr
was Samuel Harrison Reavis b Il d 1914 in Indiana. Since Miles Sr outlived his
wife for a number of years, possible he did remarry.
Does any of this fit in your data? Can you provide more data on your Miles
Reavis?
Follow up email from Barbara Lucas dated 5 Dec 06 Miles Sheldon Reavis b. 1890 d 1968 had two marriages: married Jan 1918 Vigo C., Ind and d. 1952 in Prison, Walton co, Fls.; Florence Elk Hull...died 1921 Clinton, IN, but. Frances Bernice Thompson (1923-2003) Macon Co., IL, children: Charles Dean, b. 1942, Shirley [who married Mr. Williams], Sharon K. [who married Mr. Houser] and James [Big Jim] who had a son, Michael. Miles' [senior] second marriage to Emma _____. 1930 census shows them married for 2 years, and her name Emma. Still have not found data for Miles Sheldon JOPLIN which makes me wonder if maybe he was an illeg son of Marion, and she never married Reavis. |
